This policy describes how the AI Text Helper Chrome extension and its backend handle information when you use the service.

Selected text and AI actions

AI Text Helper processes user-selected text only when you explicitly trigger an action. Supported actions include polishing writing, explaining text, translating text, and drafting replies.

The selected text and requested action are sent to our backend and to our AI provider, OpenAI, only to generate the requested result. AI Text Helper does not automatically send the contents of pages you browse for AI processing.

The extension stores your last selected text, action, and AI result or error locally in Chrome so you can view them in the popup.

Google account information

Google account information, including your email address and Google account identifier, is used for authentication and account identification. Basic profile information may also be stored locally in the extension to display your signed-in account.

Google OAuth access tokens are used to authenticate requests. OAuth access tokens and secret API keys are not exposed to other users. Server API keys are kept on the backend and are not included in the extension.

Accounts, subscriptions, and usage

User account information, subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and daily usage counts may be stored in the backend database to provide account features, manage subscription access, and apply usage limits.

Payments

Subscription and billing are handled by Stripe. Payment card details are not stored by AI Text Helper. Stripe processes payment information through its Checkout and Billing Portal services.

How information is used

We do not sell your data to third parties and do not use your data for advertising. Information is shared with service providers only as needed to provide the requested features, including AI processing, authentication, backend hosting and storage, and subscription billing.

Your choices

You choose which text to select and when to request an AI action. You can sign out from the extension at any time. Signing out does not automatically cancel a paid subscription.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through Stripe using the Manage Subscription button in the extension. If you cancel at the end of the billing period, your access continues until that period ends.
